Hooters New ‘Crotch String’ Uniform Shorts:

Hooters girls’ cheeks are blushing in fury over their skimpy new uniform shorts. “Oh look, a wedgie!” exclaimed Hooters waitress Kristen Songer, 22, in a trending TikTok of herself modeling the chicken eatery’s new skintight, bikini-cut black bottoms.

“Starting Oct. 4, all Hooters girls should wear the new shorts when working once they arrive to stores,” reads a recent Hooters policy notice obtained exclusively by The Post. “The old shorts should not be worn.”

In the uniform policy update, Hooters also warned that waitresses and bartenders who feel “uncomfortable” about the tiny new trunks mandate are welcome to put in their letters of resignation.

“There’s no longer anything covered by these shorts,” Songer, a University of South Carolina School of Medicine student, said in a video. She wore a pair of gray leggings under the shorts in order to avoid flashing too much skin to her nearly 140,000 TikTok followers. “This is why all the Hooters girls are upset — because this is not what I agreed to wear a year ago when I was hired.”

Songer, who’s gained digital popularity via the TikTok handle @TheFlatHootersGirl, realized viral success in June when she amassed over 19.6 million views for a how-to video on creating the illusion of cleavage in her Hooters uniform by using an Amazon push-up bra and contouring cosmetics on her A-cup chest.  

But now, as the almost four-decades-old comfort food chain — renowned for employing busty women to wear low-cut tops while serving customers deep-fried tidbits — shifts to a more derrière-centric dress code, Songer and her co-workers across the nation are blasting the restaurant for rolling out the extremely risqué rump wear.

“This s–t is rated porn,” teased Alabama waitresses Easten Brewer and Katherine Nicole in a TikTok close-captioned “When Hooters gets even shorter shorts.” And Giselle Nguyen, a 20-year-old staffer in Texas, stared into her video camera in disbelief while holding up her pair of the barely there bottoms. “I know it ain’t my new uniform shorts,” she complained in her video. “What’s that supposed to fit?!?”

But the female workers’ outcry against Hooters’ new hot pants is falling on deaf ears after the memo was released.
The company issued each employee new three pairs of the bitty briefs — waitresses were given two sets of shorts in orange and one in black and bartenders were given two pairs in black and one in orange.  Hooters workers are calling out the restaurant over new skimpy uniform shorts. 

The old shorts, although crotch-length, offered Hooters girls a few more inches of coverage around their backsides. The new editions cover most girls’ upper buttocks and only offer what some discontented employees have referred to as a “crotch string,” which resembles a thong-cut panty.  In the uniform policy update, Hooters noted that employees can leave if they don’t like it.

“We  hope this change would create excitement with all of our current Hooters Girls. We understand that this may be a change that may not suit your personal preference,” the memo reads.

“We would ask that you try them out and, if after two weeks, you are still hesitant to wear the new shorts you may transfer to a non-image based position or resign your position as a Hooters Girl,” the company continued. “If you choose to resign you will be eligible for rehire.

 They do have a right as workers to say something to the corporations it's why unions and HR exist because there should be communication between worker and employer.  As a human though morally and ethically those girls had every right to decide they did not like what they were "obligated" to wear and the comfort of the workers when it concerns their body and what they wear on it to do their job should 1000% be considered over  Sad, lonely men" they're supposed to be selling to. 

Basic point is that those outfits nothing short of a hazard not only are they working with food but also with misogynists they should be able to work comfortably. If other businesses run fine with full clothes this one can too or there is something wrong with the business model.

They should make it a choice for current employees if they want to wear the new stuff or not. They shouldn't spring up a change on existing personnel. If they mandate that new hires have to wear the new uniforms or they don't get the job, I don't see anything wrong with that either cause they will know what they a signing up for.

Oh Honey, you may not like it but those women DO have the right to speak their minds & that is exactly what they are doing! Sorry if that is inconvenient to your misogynistic agenda.  Hooters always had a limit of how far they will go.   If they are going to change their uniforms to this, they should have made a statement telling their employees that their mission/morals/actions are going in that direction, they have every right to do that   however there is a big difference between the biker shorts and the cheeky thong that's the new uniform. 

They should have come out with the new shorts as an option for girls first, not a requirement. I would have to wax, shave, go panty-less, AND be pulling those new shorts out from my crotch my entire shift. I would not feel comfortable walking around in them. 

We may see these kind of shorts all the time on social media... it's been normalized. However in person that's a lot hanging out. Also... if these shorts fit some girl's bodies better, then it's good for them to have another option to help with tips.... but it shouldn't have ever been a requirement due to the vast difference in the shorts.

You shouldn’t have to do a bikini wax in order to wear your work uniform, especially in a restaurant.   The girls did exactly the right thing and this is not Pyongyang North Korea.   The fact that Hooters is making a big change in the OPPOSITE direction of the politically correct, feminist cancer that's sanitizing everything right now means they deserve ALL the support we can give them.   

 I don't think if the girls wore bikinis it would increase the sales at Hooters ... If you feel like you have to shorten the shorts in order to stay in business... then it's a business that is dying.    It’s literally called HOOTERS and the logo got boobs for owl eyes.  Just such a creepy restaurant concept in these days, just go somewhere else and get some decent food without having to exploit young women.

It goes on to suggest that the company wants to keep its staffers safe.  “We are very protective of our girls and our brand.”  Yet the classic orange shorts that have since been discontinued as the official uniform, can be bought by customers.   “We do, however, offer the classic Hooters Girl orange shorts,” according to the site.  “We also sell a ribbed tank top and the lycra tank top just like our girls wear.”

Are you selling good food or selling sex  Tell the sub-culture moron who dreamed this up these are tough times and shaking the boat you will only lose good help who have been loyal,  and threats against employment indicate you got bigger problems.  

I said the head of the snake is the most dangerous part, and that applies to corporations, and some people with negative thinking who need to be counseled or removed and need to work elsewhere like the jerkoff that thought this form of severe mental masterbation will help.  Get this person some help, move into the new decade    And thats not a tongue and cheeks comment  

Personally Mr. Idiot — Are you selling wings and food or are you selling anatomically correct human rump roast?  Selling ass is insane  Look around, everybody already has one.   We have seen them all, too big, too wide, skinny, falling down, no hips, nothing new,  you are dated.  

There are many other ways for promotions and the girls years ago are what made Hooters a controversy.   But those days are gone now and those tactics died with it. It's back to basics, clean store, proper menus, promos, date nights, contests, two for ones, all kinds of deals and specials to bring them in.  And good sumptuous food.

The eye candy routine doesn’t work any more.  If you want to sell ass open up stores in third world countries. Your competitors ( Winghouse and Buffalo Wild Wings) went down this road, giving you guys a run for the money.  And the died  — Thats when Crawford Ker who built Winghouse from scratch had a great place with two successful stores,  then a  corporation bought in and things went downhill.   Both are on our do not eat here list.  Sample below.

THE MILLENNIUMS ARE PICKIER and smarter about the food than going out to check the local buttocks standings .  Hooter's does have a following but it wasn’t 100% the girls, it was the good food, wings are party food,  thats why what people go there.  No one I know,  goes there to check crotches.

The average citizen is not going to eat at Hooters just to look at buttocks — If asses are important please hang some portraits of your executives who OK'ed this joke on the walls.

By the way I was the photographer working for Playboy at the local franchise till they closed  and there was less bullsh*t  about costumes than your jerks are bringing up.  You are in the food business and atmosphere is essential to any business but in reality you are out in left field if you think this is a successful step.

If I or the public wanted to look at buttocks, may I suggest “ Naked and Afraid on TV for couch potatoes”  and Clearwater Beach Florida for some great looking buttocks.  Or as we joke bout some of the skimpier suits on the weekends, you could get away with two bandaids and a cork — two corks for conservatives  —  Bring a camera —

Hooters’ rump-roasted new uniform policy has bottomed out.  The company now says it is reversing its recent mandate that female servers trade in their already short shorts for new skin-tight, bikini-cut bottoms.

“As we continue to listen and update the image of the Hooters Girls, we are clarifying that they have the option to choose from traditional uniforms or the new ones,”  a Hooters America rep wrote in an email to Business Insider, according to a report published Sunday. 

Hooters has reversed its policy on the controversial new shorts given to employees.

“They can determine which style of shorts best fits their body style and personal image,’’ the representative added of the workers at the national restaurant chain, famous for featuring busty waitresses.  The cheeky company’s turnaround came after some of its servers took to social media to rip the new underwear shorts.

HUMOR FROM THE HOOTERS HISTORY— Several years ago while playing Parcheesi at “The Home for the Visually Offensive,” several semi-intellectual Clearwater businessmen had a sudden urge for the smell of rough sawn lumber and/or the taste of Buffalo style chicken wings. 

Knowing full well that they couldn’t agree on anything as a group, nor could they get a weekend pass from the “home” to go to Buffalo, they decided to embark upon a major undertaking. 

They would open a place in Clearwater where other people of their caliber could gather and quench their thirst for the finer things in life. It would go down in history. Beer and Wings.

Their venture, however, got off to a slow start. After announcing their plans, the “Hooters Six” (as they are now called) were promptly arrested for impersonating restaurateurs. There were no indictments, but the stigma lingers on.

There were many obstacles ahead, not the least of which was procuring a suitable location. After months of negotiations and a heated bidding war with “Wells Brothers Disposal,” who wanted to use the building for a giant walk-in Dumpster, terms were agreed to and 2800 Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard, Clearwater, Florida was theirs.

Now the dilemma…what to name the place. Simple. What else brings a gleam to men’s eyes everywhere besides beer, chicken wings and an occasional winning football season? Hence the name Hooters. Supposedly they were into owls. Strange group.

HOOTERS OWNERSHIP NO LONGER A FAMILY AFFAIR — 
Hooters of America, Inc… "HOA" announced the completion of a transaction which transfers ownership of the company from the estate of Robert H. Brooks who passed in 2006 into the hands of a consortium of private investors, including Chanticleer Holdings, Inc. 

Hooters, Inc. is the trade name of two privately held American restaurant chains: Hooters of America, Incorporated, based in Atlanta, Georgia, and Hooters, Incorporated, based in Clearwater, Florida. The Hooters name is a double entendre referring to both its owl logo, a bird known for it’s “ Hooting" calls, and an American slang term for women's breasts popularized by comedian Steve Martin on the hit comedy series Saturday Night Live.

Hooters also had an airline, Hooters Air, with a normal flight crew and flight attendants and scantily clad “ Hooters Girls” on every flight.  It’s gone, bad idea, losing 40 million dollars.

The waiting staff at Hooters restaurants are primarily young women, usually referred to simply as "Hooters Girls", whose revealing outfits and sex appeal are played up and are a primary component of the company's image. The company employs men and women as cooks, hosts (at some franchises), busboys, and managers. 

THE FOODS GOOD — The menu includes hamburgers and other sandwiches, steaks, seafood entrees, appetizers, and the restaurant’s specialty, chicken wings. Almost all Hooters restaurants hold alcoholic beverage licenses to sell beer and wine, and where local permits allow, a full liquor bar. Hooters T-shirts, sweatshirts, and various souvenirs and curios are also sold.

In January 2011 Chanticleer Holdings LLC of Charlotte, North Carolina and others completed the purchase of Hooters of America Inc. from the Brooks family.   In 2015 Hooters announced that it is planning to open more than 30 restaurants in Southeast Asia over the next six years.

As of 2016 there were more than 430 Hooters locations and franchises around the world and Hooters of America LLC. owns 160 units. There are Hooters locations in 44 US states, the US Virgin Islands, Guam, and in 28 other countries.

The first ever Hooters celebrated it’s reopening today after a complete remodel in Clearwater, Florida. The Hooters at 2800 Gulf to Bay Blvd. is the restaurant that launched the iconic American brand, which today boasts more than 480 locations in 44 states and 27 countries worldwide. 

Though completely updated and remodeled, the Original Hooters still maintains the same “ delightfully tacky, yet unrefined” historic charm and appeal as it did when it first opened on October 4, 1983.

In order to honor the restaurant’s storied past, part of the old bar and original flooring have been retained, as have some of the walls and original structure. The restaurant now also incorporates a special MuSEEum, chronicling many of the milestones in the company’s “soon to be relatively famous” history. The first Hooters opened in Clearwater, Florida on October 4, 1983. During its long history, the Hooters concept has actually undergone very little change. THE GIRLS and THEIR UNIFORMS  — The appearance of the waitresses is a main selling feature of the restaurant. A Hooters Girl  is a waitress employed by the Hooters restaurant chain, and they are recognizable by their uniform of a white tank top with the “ Hootie the Owl” logo and the location name on the front paired with short nylon orange runner’s shorts. 

Compared to some of the competition, these outfits are conservative.   It’s an illusion, nothing suggestive, and even my gal is not offended because the foods good and service is top notch.  At two competitors she was uncomfortable because she has an 15 year old granddaughter — and some of the kids parading around had more ass on outside  than on inside.   

Some of the copycats have far more skimpier outfits.  They should spend their time developing better food and not trying to out perform the local area pole dance performers.  Just my opinion…And stop hiring 18 year olds, it’s not a good career move for the child and we have a lot of mindless wonders out there heading in the wrong direction.      

The remainder of the Hooters Girls uniform consists of the restaurant's brown ticket pouch (or a black one with the black uniform), tan pantyhose, white loose socks, and clean white shoes. Men who work at Hooters wear Hooters hats, T-shirts with long pants, Bermuda shorts, or attire more suitable for kitchen use.

LOVE OF BOOBS BACKING OFF —  Millennials are less interested in breasts than their elders. People from the age of 18 to 24 are 19% less likely to search for breasts on pornographic website Pornhub compared to all other age groups, according to an analysis conducted by the website. For comparison, Pornhub visitors from the ages of 55 to 64 are 17% more likely to search for breast-related content. 

Millennials' pornography preferences seem to be part of a wider trend.  "At the moment, larger breasts are out, though I'm sure they'll come back," Sarah Pedersen, professor of communications and media at Robert Gordon University, told Playboy. "We tend to react to what went before." 

For “ Breastaurants" like Hooters and startup Twin Peaks, a loss of interest in breasts is bad for business. The number of Hooters locations in the US has dropped by more than 7% from 2012 to 2016, and sales have stagnated, according to industry reports. Hooters opened a fast-casual family location with fully clothed servers called Hoots earlier in 2017. Hoots 

Part of Hooters' struggles are tied to the sales slump that is hitting most sit-down causal-dining chains.  But a lack of interest in waitresses' cleavage — especially when there are breastaurants like Twin Peaks promising more scandalous experiences elsewhere— likely isn't helping. 

Hooters has struggled to win over millennials for some time now. In 2012, the chain attempted to revamp its image with updated decor and new menu items to attract more millennial and female customers. 

"For years they've only been working toward Generation X, but now they need to try to get millennials to come through the doors," Darren Tristano of food industry consulting company Technomic told Time in 2012. 

In light of the decline of breasts' influence in America, it comes as no surprise that Hooters has been emphasizing catering and opened up a fast-casual location with fully clothed servers— women and men.  While porn habits may change, millennials still love chicken wings. 


COPYCATS -  For a lot of people, their clothes are an extension of their personality and not just a piece of cloth to keep them warm and cover their decency.  It’s great when they can show what kind of person they are with what they are wearing, but there are places where you have to follow a dress code.

At school, you have a uniform, whereas if you have an office job, they might ask you to look more formal. Doctors have their white coats and you’ll always spot policemen in their uniforms. A lot of companies in the service industry also require their employees to wear uniforms. 

Usually it’s because of safety and practical reasons as well as for representative purposes. But companies like Hooters seem to care only about how to earn more using women’s bodies.

One of their competitors in Clearwater, the WingHouse was reviewed by me, the food I ordered was horrible and the uniforms and young age of the servers (one told me she was 18, legal in Florida to serve but cannot drink) and skimpier costumes really negated any reason for me to return. 

They were children,  Idiot men go to places to meet women, drink and even socialize if their IQ is above the Gerbil line.  But other than the kid candy there were no women in attendance, women do not go to places that are lowering their standards.  

Passing by after shopping that evening the Winghouse was empty and Hooters was full… but sooner or later, these theme places will feel the crunch  —  regardless of the costumes, the sports promotions the team spirits , shooters, beer by the gallon and so forth  —  if the food sucks  —  I don’t go there.   Hooters had the best wings. I went there.
