MRS.   BETSY DEVOS   “Rich and Stupid”

and as intelligent as a door knob, she turns when T-RUMP tells her to…

MS. BETSY DEVOS -  Millionaire Idiot And Prejudiced, She Is The Appointed Secretary Of Education… Paying Donald T-Rump Two Million Dollars For The Job…A Douchbag Pawn Against Public Education…The Future Of Our Children Is Doomed If She Keeps Breathing…

Another T-RUMP Evangelical appointee totally inept and unfit for the job who hasn’t got a clue about improving education…  She is just window dressing but she did donate 2 million dollars to the T-rump election fund and she is a devout moron  ( Moron not Mormon) which qualifies her for a T-rump cabinet position.

The only thing she has accomplished is destroying anything former president Obama put in place for student protections as per orders from President Donald
“ Bone Spurs”  T-RUMP.   Another reason for getting rid of his majesty is to get rid of the court jesters he appointed like her.  She is as incompetent as he is and just as blind to the truth.  And hasn
’t accomplished one damn thing for the education of our children.  Like the Pence’s she is an Evangelical Christian and a hopeless case of walking cranial fecal matter.   Slightly more astute than Tarzan, he was brought up by Gorillas, she was brought up by Zombie Evangelicals whose answer to everything in life starts with “ Jesus says”… Going by the ascension my claim to being would emphasize Moses thinks she’s an idiot and sycophant…

A Democratic congresswoman on Thursday rebuked Education Secretary Betsy DeVos as "out to destroy public education."   The remarks from Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) came during a tense House hearing focused on DeVos’s handling of students who claim they were defrauded by for-profit colleges.

"I've had some honest disagreements with my friends in the Republican Party on how to move education forward but I have never — not one time — believed they were out to destroy public education until I met you," Wilson told DeVos during the House Education and Labor Committee hearing.

"You are the most unpopular person in our government. Millions will register to vote in 2020 and many will vote to remove you more than to remove the president.”  A Democratic congresswoman on Thursday rebuked Education Secretary Betsy DeVos as "out to destroy public education."

DeVos didn’t get the chance to respond, but Republicans on the committee said Wilson’s comments crossed the line. No one cares, it would have been a lie anyway.  She has risen in the ranks of Peters principles.  Truly near the top of the list of T-RUMP f*ck-ups.

Then the GOP rat race spoke… "I just have to say one of those last comments was over the line — absolutely over the line," said Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.).

"To say that Secretary DeVos is trying to destroy public education is going too far, and I believe every one of my colleagues agrees. We all sat up very quickly when that comment was said. That kind of comment cannot stand in this committee."

Chairman Bobby Scott (D-Va.) rebuffed a Republican request to strike the comments from the record but said members should "refrain from questioning the motives of the members and the witnesses."

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos defended limiting loan forgiveness to students defrauded by their colleges amid criticism Thursday from House Democrats who accused her of inflicting more harm.

“If students have been deceived by institutions and suffered financial harm as a result, they should be made whole,” DeVos said in testimony before the House Education Committee.

“But if claims are false, or students did not suffer financial harm, then hard-working taxpayers … should not have to pay somebody else’s student loans, too.”  Education Secretary Betsy DeVos rolls out new method for approving student debt relief claims

The secretary’s appearance came days after the Education Department updated its formula for processing debt relief claims made under a statute known as borrower defense to repayment. One major change involves using a sliding scale based on a borrower’s wages to determine loan forgiveness. Higher education experts say that will result in substantially less loan cancellation than previously.

Republicans defended DeVos’s authority to provide partial loan forgiveness. They argued Democrats want a lenient review process that places taxpayers at risk.

“The insurance companies don’t write you a check for what you think is the damage — they assess the damage,” said Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), the ranking Republican on the committee. “What these members are saying is you just write a check from the taxpayers and say it’s okay if you tell us you’ve been defrauded. That’s not the way it works.”

Education Committee Chairman Robert C. “Bobby” Scott (D-Va.) said the question isn’t whether partial relief is legal. It’s whether it is ethical.

“In some of these cases, the fraud was so widespread and the findings of the previous administration was that some of these degrees were absolutely worthless,” he said.

A federal judge in 2018 blocked DeVos’s first attempt to cancel only a portion of the debt amassed by former Corinthian Colleges students, ruling the department violated privacy laws in its use of earnings data from the Social Security Administration. The case resulted in DeVos being held in contempt Oct. 24 for violating a court order to stop collecting loan payments from former students of the defunct for-profit chain.   Federal judge holds DeVos in contempt in loan case, slaps Education Department with $100,000 fine

DeVos said the Corinthian case has prevented the department from issuing decisions on nearly 300,000 claims filed by borrowers — most of whom attended for-profit colleges.

Rep. Joe Courtney (D-Conn.) pushed back on that assertion, arguing the judge in the case said nothing in her order prohibits the department from granting full relief to eligible borrowers.

“She left the door open for the department to continue processing requests,” Courtney said.

DeVos replied: “Yes, but without a methodology. … I couldn’t go ahead and say we can just go ahead and forgive a whole bunch of loans."

Mark A. Brown, chief operating officer in the department’s student aid office, told the committee the agency began notifying applicants this week and hopes to clear the backlog of claims within the next 12 months.

Although the Education Department has not issued any decisions in more than a year, it was reviewing claims during that time and has 18,000 denials ready to go.

Democrats and consumer groups have questioned the fairness of using earnings data from the gainful employment regulation, which DeVos repealed, and say it is an imprecise measure for calculating forgiveness. The data only reflects the take-home pay of federal aid recipients who completed their programs, but many applicants seeking relief may never have finished school.

Economists have panned the new formula. In a piece posted Thursday on Medium, Douglas Webber, a Temple University economics professor, said the methodology “confuses many statistical concepts that aren’t meant to be used together.”

DeVos said repeatedly during the four-hour hearing that she inherited a broken system from the Obama administration, which she said had no process for adjudicating claims when she arrived at the department.  Education inspector general calls on agency to process backlog of student debt relief claims

The assertion conflicts with a 2017 report by the Education Department’s inspector general that reviewed procedures established two years earlier by the Obama administration. The inspector general said that while claims processing could be improved, the system works well enough that there’s no excuse for the Trump administration failing to clear the backlog of claims.

“The previous administration weaponized the regulation against schools it simply didn’t like,” DeVos said. “So, since 2015 there has been a 5,000 percent increase in borrower defense claims.”   Democrats rejected that narrative and took issue with DeVos’s characterization of their motives.

In a heated exchange with Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva (D-Ariz.), DeVos said, “Some of you here want to just have blanket forgiveness for anyone who raises their hand and files a claim, but that simply is not right.”   Grijalva responded: “No, most of us here want justice for these taxpayers that happen to be borrowers.

I seriously believe that, and I see a trend not befitting who we were and who we are today.  We are always being told by those we chose to represent us, the politicians whom remind us how exceptional we and our children are.

That's just not true.  More liken to the Plebes of Rome being told how great things were and they could watch the slaves and Christians get eaten by lions or killed by professional killers called “ Gladiators” trained for entertainment.

Washington (CNN)

  • Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is rescinding an Obama-era rule that was created to protect students from abusive for-profit colleges. The rule, known as Gainful Employment, required for-profit colleges and career certificate programs to post debt-to-earnings ratios, proving that their students could find good-paying jobs upon graduating. If the average ratio did not meet government standards, the school’s Federal funding would be revoked.

  • Question, based on her statement… What the f*ck is this bitch thinking and did she give T-RUMP a giant kiss-job after doing this act? Everyone even idiots like her know half the Diploma Schools are failing, businesses think their training is under the bar and in some cases dangerous.

  • The Department of Education outlined a number of reasons the regulation was flawed in a notice posted Friday. It said the rule failed to account for factors other than program quality that could affect a graduate’s earnings.

  • DeVos has also criticized the rule for not requiring all nonprofit colleges to also publish the data.  In May, the department released new student loan data at the program level from nonprofit colleges, as well as certificate-granting programs. Consumer advocates slammed DeVos on Friday for rolling back the student safeguard.

  • Betsy DeVos faces new lawsuit over student debt forgiveness. She should reinvestigated for pretending to be human and compassionate and should be relegated to selling tickets for brothels in some foreighn countries.
Her nickname is “ Betsy DeCunta”

  • “Again and again, Secretary DeVos proves she only cares about protecting for-profit colleges, no matter how many students they swindle," said Aaron Ament, president of the National Student Legal Defense Network.

  • DeVos has been widely criticized by Democrats for hiring department officials with ties to the for-profit industry.

  • The secretary attempted to roll back another Obama-era rule on for-profit colleges, which allows students defrauded by their schools to seek loan forgiveness. But a federal judge -- siding with Democratic attorneys general from 18 states and the District of Columbia -- ruled that DeVos' freeze was "arbitrary and capricious" and ordered immediate implementation of the rule in October.

  • Still, claims for loan forgiveness had added up while the Department of Education fought the lawsuit in court. More than 150,000 people are waiting to hear if their debt will be canceled, and DeVos was sued again over the delay earlier this week.

  • The Department of Education froze the Gainful Employment rule about two years ago, and it has since been under review. It was never in effect long enough to result in any cuts to funding, but schools had published the data in 2017, before DeVos was sworn in. At that time, about 800 programs serving hundreds of thousands of students failed the accountability standards.

  • Together, the two rules were an important part of the Obama administration’s crackdown on for-profit colleges like Corinthian and ITT Tech, which were accused of defrauding students and eventually shut down.  The Education Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

WASHINGTON – The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee says Michigan’s Erik Prince — Betsy DeVos’ brother — needs to be investigated to determine whether he lied to Congress over a meeting with a Russian financier.   Speaking at a Washington Post Live event on Tuesday, Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said the committee will make a criminal referral to the Justice Department about the possibility that Prince gave the panel false testimony.

Blackwater CEO and founder Erik Prince - Prince, a former Navy SEAL who grew up in west Michigan and went on to found the security company Blackwater, was mentioned prominently in the report by Special Counsel Robert Mueller in regards to a meeting he had with a prominent Russian financier with close ties to Vladimir Putin just before President Donald T-RUMP took office.

Hmmm Betsy give T-RUMP money, brother talks to Russians... this stinks higher than Norwegian frozen GRAVLAX left to rot in the sun...

  • The Department of Education said Thursday that it would wipe away student debt for 15,000 borrowers, implementing an Obama-era rule that Secretary Betsy DeVos has fought to block for more than a year.  The debt cancellations will total about $150 million.

  • The rule, known as Borrower Defense to Repayment, was designed to help students cheated by for-profit Diploma Colleges get relief on their education debt.  The announcement comes about two months after  a federal judge ordered immediate implementation of the rule . The judge had sided with attorneys general from 18 states and the District of Columbia who sued DeVos for delaying the rule while she worked on rewriting it.

  • Those students who will immediately see their loans canceled were at schools that closed while they were enrolled. About half of the debt was owed by borrowers who attended one of the now defunct for-profit Corinthian Colleges.

  • The network of schools folded in 2015 after it was fined $30 million by the government for misleading prospective students with inflated job placement numbers. At the time, about 16,000 students were enrolled at its remaining 28 campuses.  But the rule also was designed to make it easier for students to apply for relief if they believe their schools misled them, by inflating job placement rates, for example -- even if they weren't enrolled when the schools closed.  Many of those students still have debt relief applications pending.

Our exceptional children are dumbed down by useless learning systems, FCAT, No Child Left Behind and once again when Politics enter the classroom, or anything else lately there is failure.  We do not teach history and what has been our past and how it affects our future.  Everything in education the GOP has brought to bear has been a disaster.

Ten years ago we led the world in learning in math and science and today we are in the middle of the  pack being beaten by countries you never heard of or couldn’t even spell their countries name.

How do US students compare with their peers around the world?  Recently released data from international math and science assessments indicate that US students continue to rank around the middle of the pack, and behind many other advanced industrial nations.

One of the biggest cross-national tests is the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), which every three years measures reading ability, math and science literacy and other key skills among 15-year-olds in dozens of developed and developing countries. The most recent PISA results, from 2015, placed the US an unimpressive 38th out of 71 countries in math and 24th in science. Among the 35 members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which sponsors the PISA initiative, the U.S. ranked 30th in math and 19th in science.

I help mentor several middle graders on science projects,  and am amazed about how much knowledge they had about their project, but who knew little or nothing about World history, the American government and how it runs, yet we tell them they are exceptional …in what.

Three of the children were from other countries, refugees from China and India and they were brilliant for their age, well supervised by their parents and extremely computer literate and interested in worldly affairs.

In one classroom,  I asked several whom did we fight in the second world war and they did not know.  They are taught math and science to pass the tests, as an evaluation of the teacher.  Our entire education system is going down the toilet and T-RUMP picked the worst possible looser to run the educational program in this country.

She has never been in a public school for her career.  She is an Evangelical, Parochial, Private school nerd, another ass-kissing golum in a cabinet of ass-kissing golums…

Not knowing history, she never attended any public schools, only allows us to make the same mistake over and over again.  Putting her in the drivers seat will ruin what little hope we have for a future resurgence in education.  She like TRUMP is in the 1% and does not care about the 99% of children who need public schools

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos struggled before a congressional subcommittee on Tuesday to defend the administration's proposal to cut at least $7 billion from education programs, including eliminating all $18 million in federal funding for the Special Olympics.

When Rep. Mark Pocan, D-Wis., a member of the House Appropriations subcommittee, asked whether DeVos knew how many children would be affected by cutting Special Olympics funding, DeVos said she did not know.  Pocan responded: "I’ll answer it for you, that's OK, no problem. It’s 272,000 kids that are affected."

DeVos then said, “  I think that the Special Olympics is an awesome organization, one that is well supported by the philanthropic sector as well.”  Pocan at that point interrupted the education secretary to say that the proposed budget includes a 26 percent reduction to state grants for special education and millions of dollars in cuts to programs for students who are blind.

After referring to his own nephews with autism, Pocan asked DeVos, “ What is it that we have a problem with, with children who are in special education?"  She replied, “Supporting children with special needs, we have continued to hold that funding at a level amount and in the context of a budget proposal that is a 10 percent reduction.”  The congressman stopped DeVos and claimed she was not answering his question.

Pocan wasn't the only House member to criticize DeVos over the proposed cuts to special education.

Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., noted that past proposed budgets also attempted to eliminate federal funding for the Special Olympics.  "I still can’t understand why you would go after disabled children in your budget," Lee said Tuesday. "You zero that out. It’s appalling.”  Competitors in rhythmic gymnastics dance during the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on March 20, 2019.Karim Sahib / AFP - Getty Images

An administration official seemed to try to quell the backlash saying that DeVos donates her nearly $200,000 salary and the Special Olympics has been a recipient of that donation.  DeVos in a statement Wednesday defended the proposal to eliminate Special Olympics funding, saying it is "not a federal program."

"It's a private organization. I love its work, and I have personally supported its mission. Because of its important work, it is able to raise more than $100 million every year," DeVos said. Eliminating its federal funding is a matter of “ Budget realities,” she said, as the government is unable to fund “every worthy program.”  Basically bullsh*t walls and fake invasions are more important than education…

Our future is doomed with this reject in the Cabinet  as the leadership pf the future for education.  Education, the US dropped from first in the world to 25-30 and now more lies - now hosted by a real nutcase typical T-RUMP appointee as she paid Trumps campaign a couple million dollars for the job.  The next generation is in jeopardy.

So Trump cut the budget knowing that she would not go against him.  She wants vouchers for private schools, more for the rich and nothing for the poor that would help.

No money for schools, teachers, and eliminate the department of education, he slashed the education budget by billions... Just another place Donald don’t think money is needed.

Our education standards are slipping badly and getting serious nationally.  So he puts an Evangelically declined Jesus juicer born-again fruit-keg in the Cabinet position not fit to run a lemonade stand in the desert in a third world country.

Legislation to foster school choice has not passed in Congress, although the new tax bill does allow families to use tax-free college savings accounts to pay for private, K-12 education.

Basically, the nutcase Trump hired to do the job, Betsy DeVos has more to worry about like being kidnapped and hanged, she is incompetent, arrogant, an Evangelical nutcase, a rich bitch who bought her job, many people feel, and not well liked.

Thats means she fits right in the cabinet.  Right now the status to better education, is do nothing, doing nothing, done nothing.  Our kids on the world scene are failing horribly...  Our kids and yours will suffer at her hands...

Slogans and chants, TRUMPS most dangerous device have meaning and are effective:  So I will in the best of Washington tactics offer a chant I heard when she went to a school in NY,  for Betsy Devos...”   Throw The Fake Trump Bitch Out”  I liked it...

Today, President Donald Trump and Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos released their proposed budget for the 2019 fiscal year. The T-RUMP administration’s budget proposal for this year makes strikingly similar drastic cuts to the administration’s fiscal year 2018 proposal, which represented the most devastating funding cuts to the US Department of Education since Ronald Reagan’s presidency.

She with T-Rump will pass the good life of the rich to the burden of the future middle class but it is doubtful since it appears with COVID-19 we might not have one.  Even if there is one she needs to be replaced, gone, forgotten about, removed, exterminated before any one kid in this country loses out because of her.  Getting rid of T-RUMP is getting rid of her as an appointee… now thats a good idea.
