Washington (CNN) Treasury Secretary “ Bigmouth”  Steve Mnuchin on Sunday said it was his idea — not President Donald Trump’s — to add the President's name to coronavirus stimulus checks that are being sent to millions of Americans, saying it's "a terrific symbol" to Americans.

"We did put the President's name on the check. That was my idea. He is the President and I think it’s a terrific symbol to the American public," Mnuchin told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."   

When asked about his name appearing on the checks during a briefing last week, Trump said, "Well, I don't know much about it, but I understand my name is there. I don’t know where they're going, how they're going."   “ I’m sure people will be very happy to get a big, fat, beautiful check and my name is on it," the President said, adding that "it's not delaying anything."  

It’s not big, it’s not fat and it is delaying things, another frickin lie.  Two senior Treasury officials reported the decision for the President’s name to appear on checks, that the move would probably set back the delivery date on the first set of paper checks.  

According to a House Ways and Means Committee memo, the paper checks will be issued at a rate of about 5 million per week, and it could take up to 20 weeks to issue them all, with individuals with the lowest incomes, based on adjusted gross income, set to receive their checks first.  i had to send him an e-Mail…

The total includes 45,075 deaths.  As states begin to include “probable deaths” in their counts, so will John Hopkins. In the upcoming days, these reporting changes may look like surges of deaths in the United States.

ENTIRE TOWN TO BE TESTED

 A remote Northern California hamlet became one of the first places in the world Monday to attempt to comprehensively test all of its residents for Covid-19 and the antibodies believed to make one immune from infection. The community-wide free testing effort in Bolinas, California, is voluntary. The town is one of two communities taking part in the new study launched by the University of California, San Francisco with the aim of gaining a more complete understanding of how the virus invisibly spread during the initial shortfall of comprehensive nationwide testing.

With a population of fewer than 2,000 people, it sits idyllically on the Pacific Ocean in rural Marin County, just North of San Francisco. Starting this past Monday, residents of this picturesque town have four days to visit a pop-up testing site to receive nasal swabs for Covid-19 infection, as well as submit for a finger prick to test for antibodies. 

Five days later, beginning on April 25, and in an entirely different location, nearly 6,000 residents of a section of the densely inhabited Mission District in San Francisco will have four days of their own in which to take advantage of the testing

WORLD IS FACING "MULTIPLE FAMINES OF BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS"

The world is facing multiple famines of "biblical proportions" in just a matter of months, the UN has said, warning that the coronavirus pandemic will push an additional 130 million people to the brink of starvation.

Famines could take hold in "about three dozen countries" in a worst-case scenario, the executive director of the World Food Programme (WFP) said in a stark address on Tuesday. Ten of those countries already have more than 1 million people on the verge of starvation, he said.

He cited conflict, an economic recession, a decline in aid and a collapse in oil prices as factors likely to lead to vast food shortages, and urged swift action to avert disaster.

"While dealing with a Covid-19 pandemic, we are also on the brink of a hunger pandemic," David Beasley told the UN's security council. "There is also a real danger that more people could potentially die from the economic impact of Covid-19 than from the virus itself."

“We are not only facing a global health pandemic but also a global humanitarian catastrophe,” Beasley said. “Millions of civilians living in conflict-scarred nations, including many women and children, face being pushed to the brink of starvation, with the specter of famine a very real and dangerous possibility.”“There are no famines yet. But I must warn you that if we don’t prepare and act now — to secure access, avoid funding shortfalls and disruptions to trade -- we could be facing multiple famines of biblical proportions within a short few months,” he said.

It’s all surface drive…  he totally combines his ignorance and arrogance into one fell burp of bullshit…

5—  And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist.  Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that.  He’s not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat.  He’s more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege.

6—  And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully.  That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a sniveling weak underling, creepy, standing there like a moron sidekick instead.

7—  There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all. He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless – and he kicks them when they are down. 

8—  So the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a third – of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think ‘Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy’ is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that:  

9—  Americans are supposed to be nicer than us, and mostly are except for the GOP base and the Evangelicals who are blind, you don’t need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man, his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss.

10—  After all, it’s impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. 11— God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. As the World Suffers, US and China Squabble over who did what or didn’t do squat. President T-RUMP has lambasted the WHO and decided to withhold funding, accusing it of aiding a Chinese coverup of Covid-19’s origins, But as warnings began to emanate from China in January, Trump was busy congratulating Beijing on its viral containment and downplaying the threat.

“He made a judgment that the virus would not be a big problem for the United States, that it would go away in April with warm weather and that taking any strong actions would spook the stock market. It is those misjudgments that have significantly worsened the covid-19 crisis in America,” “Now, to deflect blame from himself, T-RUMP has decided to bash China.”

As China, in turn, seeks to “scrub its own record” on Covid-19 through propaganda, the world’s two superpowers are squabbling at the exact time when international cooperation is most needed. “We are in the middle of a global pandemic, and the world’s two leading powers are trading insults and one-upping each other in a childish blame game that will save not one human life anywhere.

SCIENCE SAYS IT CAME FROM ANIMALS

Two recent Washington Post columns have given life to suspicion that SARS-CoV-2 may have spilled from an infectious-disease lab in Wuhan, rather than traveling directly from animals to humans. David Ignatius has written that the accepted origin story isn’t so cut-and-dried, as the first confirmed case in China had no contact with the now-infamous Wuhan “wet market”; 

Josh Rogin, meanwhile, has reported on US government cables warning of sloppy safety procedures by Chinese scientists studying bat coronaviruses, carefully noting that a lab-spill theory doesn’t suggest the virus was engineered.

But lest that theory tip over into something more conspiracy oriented, it’s worth noting what science has revealed about SARS-CoV-2. The most widely circulated academic research into its origin, published in the journal Nature Medicine in March, notes that the virus clearly bears animal markings. 

The authors deem it as distinctly bat-originated, while noting that,  “the presence in pangolins”—scaly, armadillo-like anteaters found in China—“of a receptor-binding domain very similar to that of SARS-CoV-2 means that we can infer this was also probably in the virus that jumped to humans.” 

And as a Science Daily report on the study notes, it found that the virus’s “backbone differed substantially from those of already known coronaviruses and mostly resembled related viruses found in bats and pangolins.” Which provides an important clue that the virus wasn’t created by humans, as a nefarious bioengineer presumably “would have constructed it from the backbone of a virus known to cause illness” in humans.

👺 In The New Republic, science journalist Laurie Garrett (who won a Pulitzer for her coverage of Ebola in the 1990s) writes that US President Donald T-RUMP and Chinese President Xi Jinping each mishandled the coronavirus outbreak egregiously, with disastrous consequences for the world.  China’s slow-footed reaction gained speed only after a team of epidemiologists told Xi’s office that the virus was out of control in Wuhan, Garrett writes, noting the ill-fated decision to allow Lunar New Year celebrations to begin. 

Garrett also notes the strategic important of Wuhan, writing that the “wet market” from which the virus is believed to have originated is “just a few yards away from the most important high-speed train hub in all of China, Han­kou Railway Station. This station connects not only all major cities of the nation, but the entire Belt and Road Initiative—Xi Jinping’s brainchild massive economic mission to re-create the Silk Road ancient ties between Beijing and most of Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Africa.”)  How did the virus get to Europe… just answered?

👺 After Xi took too long to act, Garrett writes, T-RUMP failed to learn the lesson, downplaying the importance of the first US case in late January, insisting the virus was similar to the flu, and doubling down on his favored policies of border closure ( tell that gain to the Mexicans) while the virus spread inside the US. 

Casting the story of Covid-19 as the story of how the two most powerful men in the world failed, Garrett writes that even if a vaccine is developed, international cooperation will be needed to roll out the “ largest mass immunization program in world history, deploying teams of vaccinators to every nook and cranny of the planet, rich or poor.” She hopes T-RUMP and Xi are up to the challenge.  Others wished the two heart attacks, then death and be replaced might be the only way to save the world.

VIRGINIA Bishop Gerald Glenn, the pastor of New Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Virginia has died, the church announced on Sunday. Glenn had tested positive for coronavirus.  Glenn told his congregation, “  We firmly believe that God is larger than this dreaded virus,” and announced he was not afraid to die. He did his entire congregation now has a problem and some  in the congregation will meet Jesus a bit sooner than expected.

THE IGNORANT RIGHT OP-ED

DEAR  IGNORANCE:
Many of the tweets I read come on social media come from short brained Neanderthals who cannot hide their ignorance and portray it in minutia, small  bursts of stupidity and heated rancor to the world… like T-RUMP they blame everyone and everything else.

But again like T-RUMP do they look inside?  No, mostly because of their inherent weaknesses of value, compassion and understanding… scumbag theology.  I’m sorry for calling you stupid you Evangelical T-RUMP supporters, and will continue to call toy ignorant? Simple if someone tells you don’t put your hand in fire and you do, you will get burned.

I will not put you down for expressing a religious or democratic belief if it is pure of heart and offends no one. But I do not care about conversation with those who claim conservative values but don’t live by them.  Or those who quote T-RUMP misleading talking points. If you are that stupid, I don’t care to know you.  Because you do not believe in truth and that is sinful… very sinful and will not get you on a bus heading North…

I base what I think on research and questioning, chasing, and rabbit holes which lead to stories, many times, the path will sometimes bear fruit on the other side.  And I am like a wolf, I will run down leads to find the truth. And many times the tunnels will take you back to where you started.   Thats what the gift is, the exploration of something, sometimes the journey is more rewarding than the arrival.  Thats my quest and absolution. And a lifelong believer in the good conservative values if fair and equal to all.  I actually believed in them till I started checking things out.  Not the morphing, cheating, lieing, goose stepping Senate of today.  We gave it a name “ Mitch McConnell’s Wehrmacht,”  all GOP Senators vote as one in the Wehrmacht,  and that one vote totally corrupted and against over six hundred laws that failed to pass to provide, nor protect our citizens. And the corrupt NRA is an entire new story so big it has its own section.   NRA TRUTH

That man is Herr Oberleutnant Mitch McConnell, and if we looked in history, his closest comparison would be Himmler of the Third Reich and his corruption of good REPUBLICAN VALUES:

The problem is that his values suit the rich and the poor pay the bills. Good values are on paper but his values are in you paycheck or lack thereof.  In the past thirty-five past years they have tried to destroy the government as we know it.  
The destruction of a central government allows smaller segments or states to control graft, cheating, gerrymandering and profit and that is their main goal.  That way little by little they gain control of the United States and some should be hung for that, some removed from office, no retirement benefits all because they violated their oaths.  

The GOP Senators have all become very rich through graft.  Note the * * * Notated ones specifically…

 * * * Political graft functions when the public officer is directed to purchase goods or services from a specific private interest at a cost far above regular market rates. As when Secret Service are housed at T-RUMP hotels at six hundred and fifty dollars per person per night. 

 * * * The private interest then siphons some of the gratuitous profits to government officials that are able to ensure that future government spending continues in the same fashion so that this lucrative relationship continues.  This just explained the Nation Rifle association.

 * * * A member of a government may misappropriate directly from government funds, but they may also make decisions benefiting their own private economic interests by using inside knowledge of upcoming government decisions to their benefit, financially in a manner similar to insider trading now under investigation in the entire Senate.
